What exactly is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication or also more widely known as RSS is a technology that is being used by millions of web users around the world to keep track of their favorite websites.

In the ‘old days’ of the web to keep track of updates on a website you had to ‘bookmark’ websites in your browser and manually return to them on a regular basis to see what had been added.

How to Use RSS?

Get an RSS Reader – The first thing you’ll want to do if you’re getting into reading sites via RSS is to hook yourself up with an RSS Feed Reader.

There are many feed readers going around with a variety of approaches and features – however a good place to start is with a couple of free and easy to use web based ones like Google Reader and Bloglines. Either one will do if you’re starting out (I use Google’s Reader) – as I say there are many others to choose from but to get started either of these are fairly easy to use and will help you work out the basics of RSS.

Both of these feed readers work a little like email. As you subscribe to feeds you’ll see that unread entries from the sites you’re tracking will be marked as bold. As you click on them you’ll see the latest update and can read it right there in the feed reader. You are given the option to click through to the actual site or move onto the next unread item – marking the last one as ‘read’.

The best way to learn how to use either Google Reader or Bloglines is to simply subscribe to some feeds and give it a go. Both have helpful help sections to get you up and running.

Note: other options to tracking websites that you might already be familiar with include using pages like MyYahoo, MyGoogle and MyMSN.

Here is a simple video to explain what i’ve said earlier and what RSS is… just click below and it will bring you there..

Few More Successful People

13 12 2007

Rosalind Gardner

Her website, Sage-Hearts.com , is a reviewing tool for her in dating and matchmaking sites and services. She made 100% of its revenue — and  the profit she made whenever one of her
site visitors signs up for one of the services featured on
her site!
Without  a product of her own to
sell, this enterprising entrepreneur earns over $50,000
per month through her website — with an astounding
75% of it pure profit!

Benjamin wong

with Benjamin Wong of PoppyStore.com , who provides
dried flowers to crafters to the tune of over $400,000 last year!
A professional certified accountant with an MBA, Benjamin had

a highly lucrative career, but he wanted to be his OWN boss…
So when he discovered that crafters were having a hard time
finding dried flowers to use in their decorating projects, he

built a website and gave them what they wanted!
And, not a single dried flower is grown or shipped by him —
he gets other people to do it for him! To top it all off, he only
works three hours per week!

Frank Sousa

is another great example. Over
the years, he’s built 300 (yep! you read that right!)
separate websites — and most of them make a hefty
profit selling other people’s products.
He’s an absolute master of the system we’re about to
show you — and his bank balance proves it. Frank’s
websites are pulling in a whopping $750,000

And if it’s been that easy for Frank to create 300
websites, how easy do you think it would be for you to
build just one website?

Successful stories like those are common nowadays. the online world has made a gateway to financial freedom, finding a niche is very important because this people has a very specific niche which targets a very specific audience. Therefore find your niche first!

Finding your niche

11 12 2007

What is a niche ?

According to a dictionary a niche is

  • a place or position suitable or appropriate for a person or thing
  • a distinct segment of a market

According to wikipedia a nich is

  • known as a target market is a focused, targetable portion or a market sector

Are you a little clear of what niche is?

You can simple do this by begin to think the topic you are already interested in.

OR here is an advice i got from a guy at internet marketing singapore. His advice is

Go read up books like Idiots Guide to Blogging and Start your own Blogging Business and prehaps do search in amazon.com or our national library cat for books on blogging.

To find your niche. First, make a list of all your interests or hobbies that you enjoy doing and will continue doing for a very long time and as well as a list of skills, experience and abilities. You will have to be sure that this is something you will like to talk, think and learn about it for everyday, 365 days a year and for the rest of your blogging life and still won’t get sick about it

You will also need to be able to develope credibility in the topic that people will hold you with high regard. Preferably, an expert in that topic.

To narrow it down, you will need to do a bit of research. First, create as many keywords as possible with the list that you have just created and do a keyword popularity search. Then narrow it down by selecting those that you think is profitable. (For example, Those that will interest the public) Do a search with those popular keyword to get to know more about your competition. Next, find out how saturated the topic is and whether it has been talk or blog about a lot. Then try to see if there is anymore further value you think you can add above your competitor.

As you can see people at internet marketing singapore are very friendly and they really give really helpful advice on anything you wanna ask. Don’t be shy if that question may seem silly because at the long run, it will help you out in return, and don’t worry about people laughing at you because NOBODY will.

8 12 2007

Its 3:15 am in the morning and I’m still quite awake with so many things on my mind so i decided to write this blog. Couldn’t sleep anyway so went and browse through ewealth, internet marketing singapore forums, connie’s blog, benjamin’s blog, many people’s blog just to make myself tired.

Whats on my mind…………?

If i had told you i think i would have to kill you lol… Nah.. just simple things like love.. etc… sometimes certain things which are not complicated turns out to be so complicated. Love is like a poison sometimes killing you inside. slowly and painful.  Love is so confusing! I’ve had a couple failed relationships which makes me not so serious into love anymore although many people has advice me not to let the pass haunt me. Yet i just cant simply ignore you know… there are people in front of me treating me good, yet i can’t appreciate them due to thinking of myself too much.. i allow my fear to make me treat them very cold sometimes which makes me push the people who do appreciate me away not wanting to be inside the love game anyway. Love… love… love….

Besides love there is also another thing on my mind… What does it take to be successful? Yes a lot of hardwork and determination.. i know… i do have it and its frustrating sometimes… Yes i know.. we mustn’t give up… sometimes we cant help it to be down… Guess i am to pesimist right? well i know we must think positively and be optimistic.. but whatever it is.. i will try my best to be successful…. anything… i will prove people that looks down on me and think i am just a useless person.

Its 3:30 am already.. took me 15 minutes to write this short blog, and no its not that i type slow k! its just i was thinking what i am going to write. i deleted many things because certain things are meant to be kept at heart… well thats all for now..
